The most recent major security issue affecting the game occurred in January 2023, when a hack in GTA Online corrupted PC players’ data, changed their parameters and even gave access to other data stored on their computer.

Casino heists in GTA Online don’t always go smoothly

This unknown threat is not the first time in-game casino robberies have encountered unexpected problems. Nearly a year after the feature launched, some players are still reporting a bug in Grand Theft Auto Online’s casino heists that allows players to disable the mission timer by giving two players at the same time trying to drill into the casino’s safe, which leads to a significant reduction in difficulty and allows players to receive large payouts without having to race against time.

Rockstar has not given a specific timeline on when the developers expect to resolve this issue. In the meantime, the development team is hard at work on GTA Online’s summer update, which will bring many new features to the game, including the establishment of a bounty hunting business, additional missions, and more. The story revolves around Vincent Effenburger, and allows players to plan custom drag and drift races in the content creator.
